Groundwater monitoring
Dear On -Site Services Engineer:
One of the requirements of the permit for the septic system on this property was to dig a test hole
at construction to confirm perk rate, separation to impermeable layers, and groundwater levels.
We did excavate that test hole, and the log and percolation data has been submitted. However, the
test hole was filled in and the monitoring tube pulled before we could take a measurement of the
7 -day groundwater monitoring levels.
Fortunately, there is an abundance of recent groundwater monitoring for the neighboring
properties, as well as the entire subdivision. The engineering report dated Feb 2, 2021 lists the test
holes and the groundwater monitoring results. The following table shows the results for the test
hole on this lot as well as the properties immediately adjacent:

Out of the 28 test holes in this subdivision, only 5 registered groundwater after the monitoring
period, during the seasonal high in May. The shallowest groundwater measured was 13.0', on Lot
26. We are confident that groundwater will not impact the installed system on this lot, where the
bottom of the trench is only 2.5' below original grade. We respectfully request that this information
be accepted in lieu of the 7 -day groundwater measurement for this test hole.

Subject: Overlook Estates #3 Lot 9 – Wilde Circle
Septic system design
Dear On-Site Services Engineer:
The owner of the above lot intends to build a 5-bedroom home on the property, so we are
submitting this permit application for the construction of a new well and septic system. The
attached site plan identifies the location of the home as well as the proposed well, septic location
and alternate site. No conflicts exist between this proposed system and any other well or septic
system, whether on this lot or adjacent lots.
The ground surface on the lot slopes toward the south at less than 20%. There are no slopes greater
than 25% within 50 feet downslope of either the primary or alternate site. Elevations are shown on
the site plan showing the grade and direction of flow. Stormwater drainage will not impact this
septic system. The new trench will be constructed parallel to the slope as much as possible.
All wells on this and adjacent lots are shown. The new system will be a minimum of 100’ from all
wells and surface water, and more than 5’ away from the septic tank. The alternate site is located
more than 6’ away.
Please refer to the attached plan and profile page for the septic design. If this design is followed,
there will be no adverse impacts to adjacent properties.
