An orifice shield is snapped onto the pipe and centered over each dole. During pump run cycles, this aerates the liquid as it is distributed atop the filter fabric sheets that hang beneath. Between pump cycles, water remains inside the lateral pipes and can freeze in severe winter temperatures.
