All construction shall be in accordance with:
1. The attached approved design.
2. All requirements specified in Anchorage Municipal code Chapters 15.55 and 15.65 and the State of Alaska
Wastewater Disposal Regulations (18AAC72) and Drinking Water Regulations (18AAC80)
3. The wastewater code requires inspections during the installation. The engineer shall notify the Development
Services Department per AMC 15.65. Provide notification by calling (907) 343-7904 (24/7).
4. From October 15 to April 15, a subsurface soil absorption system under construction during freezing weather
shall be either:
a. Opened and Closed on the same day, or
b. Covered, sealed, and heated to prevent freezing
Special Provisions:
• The existing well and septic system are to be decommissioned per code.

RE: SEPTIC SYSTEM UPGRADE PERMIT
LEGAL: T12N R3W SEC 33 LOT 234
The property owner has requested we obtain a permit to upgrade the apparent failed septic
system and well of the above referenced lot. The existing house was remodeled and any
existing well and septic system will be properly decommissioned or abandoned per code at
construction. We propose to install one shallow pressurized bed and an anchored 1500-gallon
epoxy steel septic STEP tank to serve the 3-bedroom residence. We respectfully request only
paying for the MOA rush fee for the septic portion of this permit.
The design is based on the recent test hole conducted in June, 2023 by Mike N. Anderson, PE.
Groundwater was observed at test hole excavation and monitoring. We also authorize Mike N .
Anderson, PE to make needed adjustments to the design per his signature.
The slopes are moderate at 3-8% at the proposed upgrade location. The lot and area are served
by private water. No adjacent well or septic systems are within 200’ of the proposed water and
wastewater systems. The design will not impact any of the neighboring properties. Please
