Drainfield to Lot Line Separation Distance Waiver Request
One end of the subject property’s new drainfield was installed approximately 5.1‐feet from the Sundi
Drive right‐of‐way, which does not cause any issues or restrictions for future development, revisions,
and/or repairs being made to the right‐of‐way. As such, we are requesting approval of a waiver allowing
the drainfield to be 5‐feet from the property line.

Septic System Upgrade
Design Narrative and Drainfield Slope Orientation Waiver Request
The subject 4‐bedroom property is being prepared for sale, which includes upgrading the undocumented
failed septic system to be in accordance with the code using conventional treatment.
Drainfield Slope Orientation Waiver Request: Due to space restrictions, the drainfield will be oriented
nearly perpendicular to the slope contours. The soils test hole was advanced to 29‐feet below grade to
ensure the full length of the drainfield remains in the soils that were percolation tested, and also that it
satisfies all vertical separation requirements. As such, the proposed drainfield will be protective of the
public health.
There are no anticipated probable adverse impacts to adjacent properties if the septic system is
constructed as designed. This includes: a. Wells; b. Wastewater disposal systems; c. Replacement disposal
sites; and d. Drainage flowing onto and off of the subject property that could adversely affect performance
of the wastewater disposal system.

A water sample revealed an arsenic concentration of 55 micrograms per liter (ug/L).
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has established a maximum
contaminant level (MCL) of 10.0 ug/L for public drinking water systems. While
private wells are not subject to this regulation, EPA standards are based on existing
health information and can therefore be used to gauge the relative quality of water
from private wells. Information on arsenic is available from the On -Site Water and
Wastewater Program website (www.muni.org/onsite) or at 343-7904.
This advisory must be attached to all copies of the subject Certificate of On -Site
Systems Approval.
