We are submitting this design and permit application for the construction and placement of a new 1,000 - gallon septic tank and absorption system. The attached site plan identifies the location of the home and the septic system along with the proposed septic system location. The lot is served by a community water system. No conflicts exist between this proposed system and any other well or septic system or the water service line on this lot. The new absorption system is designed based on the test hole utilized in the original design. It will be constructed with the distribution line 6' below grade in the same manner the existing trench is constructed to utilize the sandy material identified in the existing test hole. A new test hole will be placed prior to construction. If conditions found vary from design assumptions construction will not continue until a new design is approved. The new absorption trench will be located 7' from the existing trench which will be pumped dry and abandoned in place. Soils in the area are known to be fine sand with fast absorption rates. Effluent migration will be vertical and not horizontal. We request a waiver allowing the trenches to be 7' apart. The new trench will be placed 3' from the east property line as little area is available on the lot for a septic system upgrade. The lot is only 50' wide and the new trench is 47' long. It will be constructed l' from the north property line and 2' from the south property line as well. The underlying soils in the area are fine sand with percolation rates between 1 and 5 minutes per inch. No migration of effluent is expected. We request a lot line waiver allowing the new trench to be constructed as noted above. The separation distance between the proposed trench and the absorption trench on the adjacent lots will meet Municipal Code. The ground surface of the lot is virtually flat in the area of the new absorption trench. The trench will be placed parallel to the surface slope. Storm water runoff will not impact the new absorption system. The new septic system will be constructed a minimum of 100' from the existing Class C well and 100' from any private wells. It will also be 100' from surface water and more than 5' from the existing absorption trench. Please refer to the attached plan sheet for the septic design.
