At your request an adequacy test was performed on the trench connected
to the septic tank located on the referenced property. The test
was required by the Municipality's letter to you dated October 25, 1979
to determine if the trench absorption would be adequate for a nine
bedroom triplex.
Since this is a new system the trench was initially charged with
1500 gallons of water by continuous flow at a rate of approximately
100 gallons per i9inute. The water level in the sump at the end of
the trench was recorded. The system was then charged 1.rith 1492 gallons
at the rate of approximately one gallon per minute for a 24 hour
period. The 1 -rater level was again recorded in the sump. At the
end of a 48 hour period the water level was again recorded
and all the water from both the initial charge and the continued
flow had percolated from the trench. The septic tank remained
empty through out this test.
It can be concluded from the above test that the absorption area
(trench) is now functioning adequately for nine bedrooms.
If we may be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to call.
Sincerely,, ,
J
