The septic system is in a state of failure and needs to be replaced. We are proposing to replace the existing 1000 gallon septic tank with a 1250 gallon S.T.E.P. tank and install a dual 5 -wide trench type drainfield. One test hole was excavated on the property. The drainfield will be designed around the 30 foot radius of this test hole. Comments regarding the design are summarized as follows: 1. SOILS: See the attached logs which shows the soil classifications, groundwater monitoring, and the percolation test results. 2. TRENCH DESIGN: See attached design drawing for drainfield specifications 3. SURFACE WATERS: There are no surface waters within 100 feet of the proposed septic system. 4. TOPOGRAPHY: As can be seen on the attached topography site plan, the average slope in the area is approximately 10 to 15 percent running northeast to southwest. In short, there are no slope concerns.
