During the preparatory work for the foundation on the subject lot, near the northeast corner of the
property, the soils were found to be much more suitable for the location of the septic system. The
previous design was a substantial distance downgrade and conflicted with the proposed driveway.
The proposed change order design utilizes the favorable soils and will avoid issues with the
driveway.
The relocation and adjustment of the absorption trench will not pose any conflicts with the
neighboring lots, proposed well location, or other separation distances required.

My firm was contacted to investigate the possibility of installing a new well and septic system on
the above referenced lot. The record was researched to find the location of the surrounding wells
and septic system. A single hole was excavated on August 24, 1996 on the lot. The soils report
and a percolation test result are attached. Ground water was monitored for greater than seven
days. No bedrock or ground water was encountered in the test hole. The proposed upgrade and
reserve area are located greater than 100 feet from any surface water.
The lot is approximately 60,465 square feet in size. Lot 3 slopes to the west at approximately 3
percent in the area of the test holes, with steeper ground to the east. The proposed system will
be located on the western portion of the lot. The lot will be served by a private well. The
proposed septic system is greater than 100 feet away from proposed and neighboring wells and
25 feet from the proposed water service lines. The surrounding wells are located greater than
100 feet from the proposed installation. The proposed installation will not affect the future
development of the surrounding or existing lots. See the attached design.
