Box 196650 Anchorage, Alaska 9951.9-6650 Ref: Proposed Septic System for Colonial Park Subdivision; Lot 6, Block 1, To whom it may concern: The proposed 3 bedroom house will served public water and a private septic system. Two test holes were dug on the property. The drainfield will be designed around the 30 foot radii of these test. holes. We are proposing that a 1000 gallon septic tank and a deep trench type drainfield be installed. Comments regarding the design are summarized as follows: 1. SOILS: See the attached log which shows the soil classifications, groundwater monitoring, and the percolation test results. It is our opinion that due to the overall appearance of the soils, an application rate of 0.8 gallons/day/ftZ should be used. 2. TRENCH DESIGN: a. Percolation Rate: <1 & 15 minutes/inch b. Proposed Application Rate: 0.8 gallons/day/ftZ c. Number of Bedrooms: 3 d. Design Flow: 450 gallons per day e. Minimum Absorption Area: 563 ft' f. Total Depth: 10 feet (max.) g. Effective Depth: 6 feet h. Width: 2.5 feet i. Reduction Factor: N/A j. Minimum Length: 50 feet long k. Effective absorption area = 600 ft' 3. SURFACE WATERS: There are no surface waters within 100+ feet of the proposed septic system. 3701 E. TOPOGRAPHY: As can be seen on the attached design drawing, the proposed drainfield is to be installed at the base of a 10 to 15 percent slope running approximately north to south. The area around the drainfield will be graded so the no water will pond over the drainfield. In short, there are no slope concerns.
