Box 196650 Anchorage, Alaska 99519-6650 Re: Well & Septic System Design for Highland Hills Subdivision #3; Lot 18, Block 2 To whom it may concern: The proposed 4 bedroom home is to be served by a private well and septic system. A test hole was excavated on the south end of the property. The proposed drainfield will be designed around the 30 foot radius of this test hole. We are proposing that a 1250 gallon septic tank and a deep trench type drainfield be installed. The well is to be drilled as shown on the site plan. Comments regarding the proposed design are summarized as follows: SOILS: Attached is the soil log showing the soil classifications, groundwater monitoring, and the percolation test results. The soils in which the drainfield is to be installed are gravelly sandy soils. No groundwater was encountered during the excavation of the test hole or the 7 day monitoring period. A percolation test was performed between the depths of 5.0 feet to 6.0 feet which had a percolation rate of 4.86 minutes/inch. It is our opinion that an application rate of 1.0 gallons/day/ft2 should be used. TRENCH DESIGN: a. Percolation Rate: 4.86 minutes/inch b. Application Rate: 1.0 gallons/day/R2 c.
