There is no well log on file for this property. The residence was constructed in 1957 and modified in 1963. The well must have been installed at that time. A well test conducted on September 21, 2004 showed the static level to be at 36 feet At a pumping rate of 5.5 gallons per minute the draw down stabilized at 63 feet after 50 minutes of pumping. The well recovered 10 fee[ in 5 minutes. Water samples collected on that day showed no Nitrates, no Illi, but 18 colonies ofOB. The well was chlorinated and re -sampled on October 5. This sample showed no OB's as well as no E - Coll. The sewer line serving Carroll S/D was installed in 1967. Public water was not provided to the subdivision, so all lots are served by on site wells. One well serves lots 3,4,5,and 6. Ibis is a Class C well, PWSID 215744. This public well has been granted waivers to the sewer line and to manholes. The well on lot 10 is 26 feet way from the sewer line and 133 feet from the nearest manhole. I have been able to locate the well log for PWS 215744 and for the well serving Lots l land 12. The well logs shows a total depth of 91 and 100 feet for the two wells with a clay strata between 16 feet and 80 feet, and between 28 feet an d 89 feet. This clay will effectively act as an impervious barrier for any possible leakage from the sewer line. With no evidence of Nitrates or bacteria after more than 30 years of usage, it appears that the well is safe, and we ask for a waiver. Yours T. Sp d P.E. According to the Anchorage Code of Ordinances "Sewage Disposal Practices", Chapter 16, Article 16.45, Section 16.45.050: "Septic tank -seepage system sewage disposal facilities shall not be installed or used on any premises where sanitary sewers are available within seventy (70) feet of the nearest lot line of said premises...". The Municipality of Anchorage Department of Public Works has checked their records and they indicate that your structure (a) is not connected to the sanitary sewer. Would you please check your records to verify that the structure (s) is or is not connectedand notify us immediately if your records indicate that a connection has been made. If we do not hear from you within seven (7) days, we will assume that our records are correct. We, therefore, request you connect any and all structures located on the subject property to public sewer by July 30, 1976. You must apply for a connection permit from the permit officer for the Municipality of Anchorage, 3500 East Tudor Road.
