Ref: Revisions to Septic System Design for Lot 36, Block 2; Williamson Subdivision N3
To whom it may concern:
A permit was issued for the referenced property on October 29, 2003. We would like to revise
the design done by Charles E. Wilson Jr., P.E. The attached site plan and design drawings show
the revisions to the original design. The proposed 4 bedroom house will still be served by the
existing private well and the proposed private septic system. We are proposing that a 1500
gallon S.T.E.P. tank and dual pressurized 5 -wide trench type drainfields be installed. The
drainfields will be designed around the 30 foot radii of Kenneth in. Duffus, P.E.'s test holes 498-
35b & 498-35c. Comments regarding the design revisions are summarized as follows:
1. SOILS: See the attached logs which shows the soil classifications, groundwater monitoring,
and the percolation test results. It is our opinion that an application rate of 0.6 gallons/day/ft2
should be used.
2. TRENCH DESIGN:
a. Percolation Rate: 1.78 & 20 minutes/inch
b. Proposed Application Rate: 0.6 gallons/day/ft2
c. Number of Bedrooms: 4
d. Design Flow: 600 gallons per day
e. Minimum Absorption Area: 1000 ft2
f. Total Depth: 7 feet (max.)
g. Effective Depth: 4.0
h. Width: 5 feet
i. Reduction Factor: 0.50
j. Minimum Length: 100 feet total length (2 @ 50 feet long each)
k Effective absorption area= 1000 ft2
Note: the distribution lines are to be 1.25 inch Sch. 40 PVC with''/. inch holes spaced 38 inches
on center (15 holes per lateral/ 30holes total).

3. SURFACE WATERS: There is a small creek along the southeast property line. The
proposed septic system will be 100 feet away.
4. TOPOGRAPHY: The area around the proposed drainfields is relatively flat; in short, there
are no slope concerns.
5. LOT LINE WAIVER: We request that a 1 foot lot line waiver be granted from the
north/northwest property line to the proposed drainfield. We are unaware of any adverse effect
on the neighboring property with the granting of his waiver.
We are unaware of any adverse impacts this installation would have on adjacent wells or septic

Wells
Properties within 100 feet of the proposed drainfield include lots 33, 34, and 35. Lot 33 is served by a community
well, as are the lots east of 981° Street and will not be impacted by this development. Lots 34 and 35 are presently
undeveloped. Lots 34 and 35 will be precluded from drilling a potable water well near the SW corner of the lot.
Both of these lots are "flag" lots and adequate areas remain on both lots for future well installation outside the 100
foot setback from this propose septic system.
Wastewater systems
The proposed well and septic system will have no impact on existing or future on site wastewater systems on nearby
lots.
Reserved Space
The reserved space for Lot 36 is shown as the alternative drainfield on the site plan. The construction of the
alternative bed will have no impact on adjacent on site wastewater systems and the impact on adjacent wells is
discussed above for the primary field. Construction of the alternative field will not preclude development of nearby
lots.
Drainage
Surface drainage on Lot 36 flows to the southeast towards a small creek near the southeast property boundary.
Existing surface drainage patterns will be altered very little by this development. The finish grade of the primary and
alternative drainfields will be mounded such that surface water will not pound over the fields. As such, surface flow
that used to Bow directly southeast will be diverted around the drainfield. This is not expected to impact any of the
nearby lots.

Probable impacts on adjacent properties

Wells
Properties within 100 feet of the proposed seepag beds include Lots 33, 34, and 35. Lot 33 is served by a
community well, as are the lots to the east of 98' Street and will not be impacted by this development.
Lots 34 and 35 are presently undeveloped. They would be precluded from drilling a potable water well on
the south side of their properties. Adequate areas remain on lots 34 and 35 for well installation that will be
in excess of 100 feet from the proposed seepage beds and on-site wastewater systems on adjacent lots.
Wastewater systems
The proposed well and on-site wastewater system will have no impact on existing or future on-site
wastewater systems on nearby lots.
Reserved Space or surface and subsurface
The reserved space for Lot 36 is shown as the alternative seepage bed on the site plan. The construction of
the alternative bed will have no impact on adjacent on-site wastewater systems and the impact on adjacent
wells is as discussed above for the primary field. Construction of the alternative bed will not preclude
development of nearby lots.
Drainage
Surface drainage on Lot 36 flows to the southeast towards a small creek near the southeast property
boundary. Existing surface drainage patterns will be altered very little by this development. The finish
grade of the primary and alternate beds will be mounded such that surface water will not pond over the
beds. As such, surface Bow that used to Bow directly southeast will now be diverted around the beds. This
is not expected to impact any of the nearby lots.
