The post -tank cleanouts have been buried 2-3' below grade and we have been unable to verify their existence. Box 196650 Anchorage, Alaska 99519-6650 Subject: New sewer/well permit — Harvey Pullen Homestead, NW1/4, Sec 4, T13N, R1E, SM Gentlemen: The owner has requested we proceed forward to obtain a well and septic permit on the subject lot. In 1995 we dug several testholes in this area for a preliminary plat which would have subdivided this and the adjoining parcel into several lots. The platting action did not proceed and this 27 acre parcel is now being developed as a single family residence. The results of the tests in the general area are attached. The general slope of this area of the parcel is from northeast to southwest at approximately 5% - 10% We have designed our system utilizing the testholes we excavated for the five bedroom house which is proposed for this parcel. The parcel will be served by individual well. We propose to install a 2' wide deep trench. No water was encountered during the excavation and was dry during our monitoring this week. We do not anticipate any need for additional fill over the system when complete. There are no public or private wells within 200' of our proposed system location except as noted. There is no surface water adjacent to this property or within 100' of the proposed system and there are no known curtain drains within 50'. The reported results described the performance of the system under the conditions encountered at the time of the test, and separation distances measured to readily identifiable features. The operational life of all wells and septic systems depend on the local soils condition, groundwaterlevels that may fluctuate during the year, and the water usage of the family being served by the system. These conditions are outside the control of the evaluator of the system. Satisfactory test results do not guarantee future performance of the system, nor do they guarantee that there are no hidden defects or encroachments.
