Subject: Septic Tank Replacement Design and Permit Application Revision
Dear Plan Reviewer,
The owners of the above 4-bedroom home septic tank is in a collapsed state, and is in need of
replacement.
The owner and I have spoken about the cost of moving forward with new field. The result is to
replace the tank with a 1500 gallon STEP Tank and continue to use the existing field.
SEPTIC TANK REQUIREMENTS
The existing failed septic tank is located under a low rise deck and will be pump and hauled offsite.
The new tank will be relocated to the south side of the home maintain ten-foot separation from the
foundation. The new tank will be 1500 gallon STEP tank meeting the AMC Chapter 15.65. The tank
has adequate cover without insulation
DRAIN FIELD CONNECTION
We are proposing to connect to the existing septic field as shown on the attached drawings.
SURFACE WATERS
There is no surface water within 100 feet of the proposed tank. Drainage arrows on the site plan
indicate the slope and direction of stormwater runoff. (See attached site plan)

WELLS & DRINKING WATER
There are no water wells within 100 feet of the proposed tank. The property is served by a private
community well, see attached ADEC classification.
SURROUNDING PROPERTIES
We do not anticipate any adverse effects on the neighboring septic systems, reserve areas or drainage
patterns by the installation of the proposed wells and septic system.

A sewer system adequacy test was performed on the system located
onthe referenced property, as you requested. The septic
pumped and verified to have a capacity of 1000 llons.

The seepage p t was tested by charging the system with 10— pp
gallons of fresh water and after a period of 24 hours the
percolation from the crib indicated that approximately 193
gallons had percolated out of the crib.
It can be concluded from this test that the waste water disposal
system serving the three bedroom residence located on this
property is notcurrently functioning adequately
