Two test holes were excavated on the property. The septic system will be designed around the 30 foot radii of these test holes. We are proposing that a new 1000 gallon septic tank and a deep trench type drainfield be installed. The well is to be drilled in the area shown on the attached site plan and design drawings. Comments regarding the design are summarized as follows: 1. SOILS: See the attached log which shows the soil classifications, groundwater monitoring, and the percolation test results. It is our opinion that the insitu sandy soils will act as a sand filter and that an application rate of 1.2 gallons/day/ftZ should be used. 2. TRENCH DESIGN: a. Percolation Rate: <1 minutes/inch b. Proposed Application Rate: 1.2 gallons/day/flZ c. Number of Bedrooms: 3 d. Design Flow: 450 gallons per day e. Minimum Absorption Area: 375 ftZ f. Total Depth: 12 feet (max.) g. TOPOGRAPHY: As can be seen on the design, the average topography in the area of the proposed drainfield is a 5 to 20 percent slope running from approximately northeast to southwest.
