Dear Mr. Cross:
The referenced property represents an undeveloped 40,324 square foot parcel. The proposed four (4)
bedroom, single family dwelling was built in a slightly different location and precludes the original
bed design. The location is shown on the attached site plan, Plate 2. Our design data is summarized
in the following dialog.
1. SOILS: Attached is a copy of the soil log/percolation test data and Site Plan. The first
log documents a Sandy Gravel (GP) with Cobbles soil profile to a depth of 1 I feet,
and then a Sandy Gravel (GP) to a depth of 16.5 feet below the ground surface. No
water table was encountered with monitoring through 9/28/04. The second log shows
that 3 feet of Peat (Pt) has been imported as Fill over the native soil. The receiving
soil has a percolation rate less than one (1) minute per inch. A filter sand is required
to slow the absorption rate.
2. DEEP TRENCH FIELD DESIGN:
a. Percolation Rate: greater than 1 minute per inch with filter sand (CPP Palmer, T &
J Services Wasilla).

b. Allowable application Rate: 0.0 gallons/day/ft?
c. Number of Bedrooms: 4.
d. Design Flow: 600 gallons per day (at 150gallons/bedroom).
e. Minimum Absorption Area: 600 s.f.
f. Maximum Total Depth (below original grade): 13.5 ft. (4'-2" cover, 0.5 ft. sewer
rock, 1.0 ft filter sand, 7.0 ft sewer rock).
g. Width: 3 ft.
It. Minimum Length: 43 feet.
i. Effective Absorption Area = 602 s.f.
3. SURFACE WATERS:
There are no surface waters within 300 feet of the proposed septic system. There are
no streams or drainages on the property.
4. TOPOGRAPHY:
The septic site has been graded so that the site is essentially level on the South halfof
the property. There is currently a slope that is greater than 25% to the North of the
septic site. Fill is still being brought to the site, and site grading will be done in away
to ensure that no slopes exceed 25% within 50 feet of the septic site (primary or
reserve).
5. IMPACTS:
On the basis of our site visit and the available site information, there are no current
well and septic developments within 100 feet of this system. Accordingly, there will
be no adverse impacts on adjacent wells or septic systems of adjacent lots when built
as designed.
6. WELL and SEPTIC INSTALLATION:
The well has been installed by a certified well driller. The septic system designed
herein shall be constructed in accordance with the most recent AMC 15.65 by an
approved septic system installer. The installations shall be completed in accordance
with the requirements of the On Site Well and Septic Permits. The overall Eaton Park
development plan has already been submitted to DHHS.

The Municipality of Anchorage Development Services Department (DSD) Issues Certificates of Health Authority
Approval (HAA) based only upon the representations given in paragraph 4 by an independent professional civil
engineer registered in the State of Alaska. Certificates of Health Authority Approval are required for the transfer of
title (except between spouses 110 r rerties served by a single=family-gn_site wastewater-disposaLand/orwater
supply system. DSD also Issues HAAs upon request to homeowners. Certificates of Health Authority Approval are
valid for 90 days from the date of issue for properties served by a private or Class C well and may be reissued with
new water sample results. (Certificates may be reissued for a period of up to one year with valid water samples.)
Certificates are valid for one year for properties served by Class A or B wells or a public water system. The
Municipality of Anchorage is not responsible for errors or omissions in the professional engineers work.l
