( ) The top of the well casing sealed with a sanitary seal so that it is water tight. ( ) The depression or pit around the well casing needs to be filled with impervious type soil so that it slopes away from the well casing. () ( ) The well casing extended twelve(12) inches above ground level. Exposed electrical wires to the well head are in violation of the Municipality of Anchorage codes and must be encased in conduit. ( ) The water facilities were not turned on at the time of the scheduled inspection. Please call this office for another appointment. The water analysis report needs to be delivered to this office from the Chem Lab, 5633 B Street, for our review. Expose the well for our inspection to deter~ine proper construction, also to insure minimum distance requirements are met between the well and sewer system. We request you grant a 80'+ separation distance waiver from the well on the subject property to the septic tank on the subject property; The following items are justification for this waiver: ,,The lot slopes away from the well in the area of the septic tank. If effluent were to daylight, it would not travel toward the well head. ,,The location of the septic system is in a very visible area so that if any effluent was to surface, it would be noticed and the problem corrected. · According to the attached well log, there is a layer of hard packed clay from 47' to 123' below the surface as well as other layers of hard packed clay. These layers would prevent subsurface contamination by the septic system. ~,A recent water sample indicated no bacteria present and nitrates were 1.59 mg/L. ,,The septic tank is a plastic septic tank and therefore presents less risk of corrosion and collapsing.
