Ret: Proposed Septic System for McKinley Heights Subdivision; Lot 5, Block 4,
To whom it may concern:
The proposed 3 bedroom house will be served by a private well and septic system We are proposing that a 1000
gallon septic tank and a dual 5 -wide trench type drainfield be installed. Two test holes were excavated on the
property and the proposed drainfield will be designed around the 30 foot radii of these test holes. There is a well
that was previously drilled on the referenced property. The owner is planning to use this well for the proposed 3
bedroom house. Brian Willie with Arrow Pump and Well Services determined the well to be 190 feet deep, and
cased to 56 feet. The casing also extends 2 feet above grade, the well wires are in conduit, and there is a sanitary
seal on the well head. The owner of the referenced property also owns the lot next to it; McKinley Heights
Subdivision; Lot 4, Block 4. On Lot 4, there is an existing 8 foot high cinder block foundation and a septic system
that is currently not in use. The foundation will be completely removed and the septic system will be abandoned
completely at the time of the installation. Comments regarding the design are summarized as follows:
1. SOILS: See the attached logs which shows the soil classifications, groundwater monitoring, and the percolation
test results.
2. DRAINFIELD DESIGN: See attached design drawing for drainfield specifications.
3. SURFACE WATERS: There are no surface waters within 100 feet of the proposed septic system
4. TOPOGRAPHY: As can be seen on the attached design and detail drawing the average topography in the area
of the drainfield is a 15-35 percent slope running approximately south to north. All areas 35 feet below the alternate
site are to be graded less than a 25 percent slope. We request a 35 foot waiver to any slope greater than 25 percent
(see attached detail drawing page 3 of 3).
