By: Grid : 2734 WASTEWATER DISPOSAL SYSTEM LOT 4A, BLOCK 1, BOYLE SUBDIVISION 1.0 GENERAL 1.1 The scope of this project consists of inspection of the existing I000gallon Septic Tank by exposing the tank & visually checking the exterior for leaks. The baffles in the tank shall also be checked to see that they are in place and working properly. A "Bull Run Diverter Valve shall then be installed between the concrete septic tank and the existing seepage pit. A new 4 inch drain line shall be run from the diverter valve to the new leach field. 2" rigid direct burial insulation shall be placed over the drain where it runs under the driveway. A new deep trench absorption field 32 ft. long by 11 ft. deep (6ft. effective depth) and a backhoe bucket wide shall be constructed North of the driveway as shown on the Site Plan. 1.2 Construction shall be in accordance with: (A) The approved site plan and design drawings and specifications, (B) Municipality of Anchorage permit with any special provisions or conditions. Deviations from the approved design drawings shall be coordinated and approved by the engineer conducting the inspections. 1.3 All construction procedures and material used to construct the system shall comply with Municipal and State Regulations. 1.4 The homeowner shall be responsible for finish grading and seeding disturbed areas after the system is constructed and soil is compacted and mounded over the absorption trench and the Septic Tank. 2.0 SUBSURFACE DISPOSAL FIELD 2.1 The subsurface disposal field shall consist of a deep trench, 32 feet long, one backhoe bucket width wide, by 11 feet deep, with 6.0 feet of sewer rock beneath the perforated pipe (the effective depth of the trench). 2.2 A total of 6.5 ft. of sewer rock shall be placed after trench excavation. Five feet of rock shall be beneath the drain pipe in the trench. A minimum of 2 inches of sewer rock shall be placed over the perforated pipe. 2.3 Sewer rock shall be 0.5 — 2.5" screened gravel with less than 3 % passing the #200 sieve. 2.4 Cleanout pipes and monitor tubes shall be 4" diameter. There shall be a cleanout at both ends of the trench. The monitor tube shall be at the North end of the trench. The portion of the monitor tube extending through the sewer rock shall be perforated. A double cleanout shall also be placed between the diverter valve and the trench. One closest to the tank shall clean to the trench and the one closest to the trench shall clean to the tank. All cleanouts and monitor tubes shall have waterproof caps. 2.5 Filter fabric shall be placed over the sewer rock, and a minimum of 3 foot of backfill shall cover the rock. 3.0 ENGINEERING INSPECTIONS 3.1 A minimum of four engineering inspections will be required during construction of the system. One during the exposure & inspection of the existing concrete septic'tank is set, one after excavation of the trench prior to placement of sewer rock, one after placement of sewer rock and all distribution piping, cleanouts and monitoring tubes are in place. The final inspection shall fie after the filter fa%ric is placed , the trench backfilled and the final grading is, complete. 3.2 The contractor shall coordinate with the engineer at least 24 hours prior to start of construction. PROBABLE IMPACTS TO ADJACENT PROPERTIES A) WELLS The proposed wastewater disposal system is designed in accordance with current Municipal Wastewater Disposal Regulations. The proposed 1 I' deep x 32' long deep trench absorption field is greater than 100 ft. from wells on this and surrounding lots. There is room for a replacement system on this lot. Therefore, there should be no adverse impacts on wells from this system. The construction of this replacement absorption system will not preclude construction of systems on adjoining lots. B) WASTEWATER SYSTEMS The system is designed in accordance with current Municipal Regulations, and construction will comply with current regulations. There should be no adverse impact of adjacent disposal systems. C) RESERVED SPACE/SURFACE AND SUBSURFACE There is adequate space on the lot for a replacement disposal system, and still maintain the protective radiuses around wells. The placement of the septic system on this lot should not preclude building replacement systems on adjacent lots. D) DRAINAGE The topography on this lot and the surrounding lots is sloping varying from 5 %to 10 %. The area disturbed during construction of the system will be graded to prevent ponding of water.
