Box 102954 ge, Alaska, 99510 )071272-8218 Fax My firm was asked to investigate a new septic system serving this lot. Two test holes were excavated on October 31, 1999 on the lot. The soils report and a percolation test result is attached. No bedrock was encountered in the test hole No ground water was encountered while digging the test holes, but was monitored at a minimum depth of 8.5 feet below the ground surface over a two-year monitoring period. The lot is approximately 55,097 square feet in size. Lot 8B slopes to the west at approximately one percent in the area of the test holes and steeper to the east. The proposed installation will be located on the western portion of the lot. The proposed private well will be located in the southeastern portion of the lot. The proposed location is greater than 100 feet away from existing & neighboring wells and 25 feet from the water service lines. The surrounding wells are located greater than 100 feet from the proposed installation. The proposed installation Ali not affect the future development of the surrounding or existinglots. Subject: Lot 8, Block 4 Drake S/D Water Monitoring Dear Mr. Cross: I was contacted to perform test holes, percolation tests and water monitoring for the subdivision of the above referenced lot. I conducted seven test holes on October 31, 1999 over the entire lot. Three test holes were suitable for percolations and water monitoring. See the attached soils report. The test hole on Lot 8B had a percolation rate of 7 minutes per inch. The test hole was dry at the time of excavation to a depth of 10 feet. I have been monitoring the test hole on Lot 8B since October 31, 1999 through the seasonal highs. The following are my water monitoring findings from the past two years: Date Death of Water May 2000 9 feet October 2000 9.5 feet May 2001 8.5 feet May 2002 8.75 feet Based on the above information and the soils information gathered on October 31, 1999, there is sufficient space on this lot for a primary and reserve soil absorption system.
