Ref: Proposed Initial Septic System for T12N, R3W, Sec 27, Lot 4
To whom it may concern:
The referenced property is currently vacant. The owner is proposing to build a 4 bedroom house that will
be served by a private well and septic system. We are proposing to install a 1250 gallon septic tank and a
5 wide type drainfield. Attached are a site plan and a design drawing showing the proposed septic system.
Three test holes were excavated on the property. The drainfield will be designed around the 30 foot
radius of test hole #3. Comments regarding the design are summarized as follows:
1. SOILS: See the attached logs which show the soil classifications, groundwater monitoring, and the
percolation test results.
2. DRAINFIELD DESIGN: See attached design drawing for drainfield specifications.
3. SURFACE WATERS: There are no surface water concerns.
4. TOPOGRAPHY: As can be seen on the attached topography drawing, the area around the proposed
drainfield is 5 to 10 percent slopes running northeast to southwest. In short, there are no slope concerns.
5. WAIVER OF SAND FILTER: We request that your department waive the requirement of the
installation of 2 feet of MOA approved sand. We are proposing to use the insitu sandy soils as a sand
filter.
We are unaware of any adverse impacts this installation would have on adjacent wells or septic systems.

Ref: 12N, R3W, Sec27, Lot 22, Request for Sand Filter Requirement to be Waived;
To whom it may concern:
We request that your department waive the requirement of the installation of 2 feet of MOA approved
sand. We are proposing to use the insitu sandy soils as a sand filter. The following is justifications for the
waiver;
• The MOA initially approved this installation (SW 030063) without a sand filter.
• The soil log (TH#3) indicated there is increased sand content at a depth of 9.0 feet in the test hole.
• ADEC allows for a waiver of the sand filter requirement on a case-by-case basis.
• It is our opinion that the installation of a sand filter (which also perks faster than 1 minute per
inch) will not add any additional treatment than the native insitu soil.
We are unaware of aX adverse impacts this installation would have on adjacent wells or septic systems.

To whom it may concern:
The proposed 6 bedroom house will be served by a private well and septic system. Three test
holes were excavated on the property. The primary drainfield site will be designed around the 30
foot radius of test hole #3. We are proposing that a 2000 gallon septic tank and dual 5 -wide type
drainfield be installed. The proposed well is to be drilled in the area shown on the attached site
plan and design drawings. Comments regarding the design are summarized as follows:
1. SOILS: See the attached logs which shows the soil classifications, groundwater monitoring,
and the percolation test results. It is our opinion that an application rate of 1.0 gallons/day/ft2
should be used for the area around test hole #3 and that the insitu sandy soils should act as a sand
filter.
2. TRENCH DESIGN:
a. Percolation Rate: <1 minutes/inch (TH#3)
b. Proposed Application Rate: 1.0 gallons/day/ft�
c. Number of Bedrooms: 6
d. Design Flow: 900 gallons per day
e. Minimum Absorption Area: 900 ft

4. TOPOGRAPHY: As can be seen on the attached site plan, the area for the proposed septic
system is a 5 to 10 percent slope running approximately northeast to southwest; in short, there
are no slope concerns.
We are unaware of any adverse impacts this installation would have on adjacent wells or septic

Engineer's Comments:
In conducting this evaluation, GEG, LtD. attempted to provide a thorough,
conscientious engineering analysis of the system in accordance with ADEC and MOA
DSD Guidelines & Regulations. The reported results described the performance of the
system under the conditions encountered at the time of the test, and separation
distances measured to readily identifiable features. The operational fife of all wells and
septic systems depend on the local soils condition, groundwater levels that may
fluctuate during the year, and the water usage of the family being served by the system.
