Ref: Proposed Septic System for Sky Ranch Estates Subdivision; Lot 10, Block 4
To whom it may concern:
The proposed 3 bedroom house is to be served by a private well and septic system. We are proposing to
install a 1000 gallon septic tank and a deep trench type drainfield. Two test holes were excavated on the
property. The drainfield will be designed around the 30 foot radius of these test holes. Comments
regarding the design are summarized as follows:
1. SOILS: See the attached logs which shows the soil classifications, groundwater monitoring, and the
percolation test results.
2. DRAINFIELD DESIGN: See attached design drawing for drainfield specifications.
3. SURFACE WATERS: There are no surface waters within 100 feet of the proposed septic system.
4.TOPOGRAPIIY: The average topography around the drainfield is a 5-10 percent slope running
approximately east to west. In short, there are no slope concerns.
We are unaware of any adverse impacts this installation would have on adjacent wells or septic systems.

A permit was issued on the referenced property on November 15, 2006. Both the proposed well and septic
locations have been slightly moved. Attached is a revised design drawing showing the new locations. Due
to the proposed well location, we are proposing to move the primary drainfield site west in order to meet
the separation distance for the septic tank. We request a 1 foot lot line waiver from the west lot line to the
proposed drainficld. The neighboring septic system is greater than 14 feet from the west lot line. In short,
we are unaware of anx adverse effects with the granting of this waiver.

conscientious engineering analysis of the system in accordance with ADEC and MOA
DSD Guidelines 8 Regulations. The reported results described the performance of the
system under the conditions encountered at the time of the test, and separation
distances measured to readily identifiable features. The operational life of all wells and
septic systems depend on the local sells condition, groundwaterlevels that may
fluctuate during the year, and the water usage of the family being served by the system.
These conditions are outside the controf of the evaluator of the system. Satisfactory test
results do not guarantee future performance of the system, nor do they guarantee that

To whom it may concern,
The subject property is served by a private well and a septic system consisting of a 1000 gallon
septic tank and a trench type drainfield with an effective depth of 6.07 feet. Upon our initial
inspection (7/14/2014) the trench was 100% full and several inches of thick and black sludge was
found in the cleanouts. Lack of septic maintenance (not pumping frequently enough likely
contributed to solids reaching the drainfield). The tank was pumped and the sewer lines were
hydro -jetted on 7/15/2014 by Around the Clock Pumping. We monitored the rate at which the tank
was filling for 2 days and determined the daily water usage to be approximately 375 gallons per
day. The septic tank was full within 3 days after pumping. The tank was pumped again on
7/21/2014, the day before our adequacy test. On 7/22/2014 an adequacy test was performed on the
system.
At the beginning of our test, the liquid level in the drainfield was 61 inches. After introducing 430
gallons, water was heard backflowing into the tank. The liquid level at this time was 73 inches
(approximately I inch above the invert). The tank was monitored until water was no longer
backfilling into the tank. The drainfield was allowed to rest for 188 minutes, at which point, water
was again re -introduced to the drainfield. The liquid level was 70 inches at this point (2 inches
below the invert). Over the course of 27 minutes, 125 gallons were introduced into the drainfield
at which point, water was again heard backfilling into the tank. This is indicative that the drainfield
absorbed 125 gallons in 215 minutes which equates to an absorption rate of 837 gallons per day.
The liquid level was monitored 120 minutes after the water was shut-off (after re -filling the trench)
and found to be 71 inches (1 inch below the invert). This would suggest a further absorption of

89 gallons in 120 minutes. In short, the drainfield currently appears to be performing adequately
for a 3 bedroom house; however; it must be filled to 100% capacity to achieve this absorption rate.
ADVISORY NOTICE: GEG, Ltd. recommends that the system be chemically treated to enhance
its performance. In addition, it is recommended that an advisory notice be issued with the C.O.S.A.
indicating that it has to be filled to 100% capacity in order to achieve adequate absorption.
