Septic System Design and Permit Application
Impacts to Adjacent Properties
Dear Onsite Services Engineer:
The septic tank on Lot 17, Block 6, Thunderbird Heights Subdivision No. I is near
failure and must be replaced. We are proposing to replace the tank with a new 1,250-
gallon steel septic tank to serve the four-bedroom home on the lot. We are therefore
requesting a permit be issued for the construction of a new septic tank to serve the
home. The attached Site Plan and backup documentation identify the location and
configuration of the existing septic system and the location of the new tank. Also
identified on the plans is the existing water service on the lot. The subdivision is served
by a community water system. The existing tank on the lot will be properly disposed on
the property and backfilled. The drainage patterns on the property will be maintained
after construction.
The ground surface on the lot slopes to the southeast at a 3% grade in the area of the
new tank. The tank will be placed in the same location as the existing tank at nearly the
same elevation. It will then be tied in to the existing service line. The tank will be
constructed parallel with the contours of the land as much as possible in conformance
with Municipal requirements.
If the tank is constructed in accordance with our design the following statements apply:

The tank, if constructed as designed, will have no adverse impact on the wells in
the area or those to be constructed in the future.
The tank, if constructed as designed, will have no adverse impact on existing
septic systems in the area or those to be constructed in the future.

space, either surface or subsurface, on any lots located in the area.

Dear Sir,
During the period from June 6 to June 20, 1984, we
performed research, investigations and testing persuant to
Health Authority Approval on the above referenced lot.
We also performed an adequacy test on the septic system
and found that it absorbed at a rate greater than 7 gallons
per minute (gpm). This is significantly greater than the
600 gallons per day (gpd) required for a 4 bedroom house and
the system is therefore adequate. The septic tank was
pumped as part of the test and the volume was verified to be
1250 gallons.
