The septic system is currently in a state of failure and needs to be replaced. We are proposing to install a new 1000 gallon septic tank and 5 -wide trench type drainfield. One test hole was excavated on the property. The drainfield will be designed around the 30 foot radius of this test hole. Comments regarding the design are summarized as follows: 1. SOILS: See the attached logs which shows the soil classifications, groundwater monitoring, and the percolation test results. It is our opinion that an application rate of 0.8 gallons/day/ft' should be used. 2. TRENCH DESIGN: a. Percolation Rate: 12 minutes/inch b. Proposed Application Rate: 0.8 gallons/day/ft' c. Number of Bedrooms: 3 d. Design Flow: 450 gallons per day e. Minimum Absorption Area: 563 ft= f. Total Depth: 6 feet (maximum) g. Effective Depth: 3 feet (minimum) h. Width: 5 feet i.
