Engineers detail notes for manhole type: Concrete exterior surfaces of manhole with waterproof bituminous coating. Then seal manhole joints with "Mac Wrap" exterior pipe joint sealer up to top of grade ring. Then wrap the exterior of the manhole with 8 mil thick of polyethylene encasement material with 3 layers. 1.) Min. steel required for barrel as per A.S.T.M. C-478-69 shall be imbedded in base so that first barrel section is connected with base. 2.) All manhole sections shall conform to the engineers designs and to A.S.T.M. C-478-69. 3.) "Jet Set", "All Crete" or equal at pipe connections entering precast base. 4.) "Ram-Nek" or equal and prime barrel joints. Heat "Ram-Nek" and seal surfaces before final assembly. 5.) Coat concrete ext. surfaces of manhole with waterproof bituminous coating. 6.) Pipe penetrations to be sealed with "Z-loc" pipe connections. Grout inside as per mnaufactures recommendation, 7.) Steve Pannone provided a number of soil logs for the waiver submital. Most of the well logs seemed to have more or less the same soil strata. For the purposes of calculating the points according to the D.E.C. guideline, Rolling Hills Estates Block C Lot 2 well log was chosen. The proposed sewer line is going to be 6 feet deep. The soils from the bottom of the sewer line for 61 feet is Gravelly Silt, then 18 feet of Silty Gravel, then 11 feet of Sandy Silt, then 7 feet Silty Gravel, and then 4 feet of water Sand and Gravel. This well is not in record unfortunately however lot 3 well had a water sample taken for the purpose of having a septic system encroachment. The Nitrates showed to be less than 1 mg/I, which is well within Municipal standards. Please see permit SW050364. This permit was issued on September 22, 2005 for a Well on Rolling Hills Estates Block C Lot 5. The well was issued by Dan Roth Onsite Program Manager with a special construction technique as a provision. A waiver was issued on October 5, 2005 granting a separation waiver from this well to a new manhole in Bailey Street. This request is for two additional waivers for a new extension of the sewer line. 1. Soils. Typically the soils in this area are poorly graded sands to silty sands. The well on Lot 4 does not have a log. I have included in this request available well logs from surrounding lots. 2. Waiver Request: The proposed sewer main will connect to an existing manhole in Bailey Street. It will run north up Bailey Street approximately 100 feet and terminate in a main line clean out. The pipe joints will be positively connected by the use field lock gaskets. Further, each pipe connection will be wrapped to provide a watertight seal using material specified in AWWU Design Criteria Manual. The existing manhole currently has all mechanical joints inside the manhole and is watertight. The proposed cleanout will be watertight with mechanical joints inside. See the attached plan set. These plans have been submitted to AWWW (on 8/8/06) for review and comments. I request the following additional waivers: Well to sewer main line— 60 feet; Well to main line clean out — 84 feet 3. Topography: The average topography in the area of the proposed sewer main is approximately two to three percent sloping to the southeast. 4. Yater Analysis: I have performed a water analysis of the well water on this and surrounding lots. The water results are attached. Soils. Typically the soils in this area are poorly graded sands to silty sands 2. Waiver Request: The proposed sewer main will connect to an existing manhole in 73�d Avenue. It will run north up Bailey Street approximately 282 feet and terminate in a manhole. The pipe joints will be positively connected by the use field lock gaskets. Farther, each pipe connection will be wrapped to provide a watertight seal using material specified in AWWU Design Criteria Manual. The existing manhole currently has all mechanical joints inside the manhole and is watertight. The proposed manhole will be a watertight manhole with mechanical joints inside. See the attached plan set. These plans have been submitted to AWWU (on 9/16/05) for review and comments. The new manhole will be located 81 feet from the existing well on Lot 4. Lot 4's well is located in the front of the yard and there is not log on record. I have included surrounding well logs for your use. 3. Well Construction: The Owners of Lot 5, Block C are in the process of obtaining a permit to construct a new home. A new private well will be required to serve this property. I propose placing the well in the northwest comer of the lot, near the Bailey Street Right -of -Way. It will be located over 100 feet from any existing septic systems on the surrounding lots. 4. Surface Water: There is no surface water within 100 feet of the proposed system. The proposed systems will maintain at least 100 feet from all surface water and drainage ditches. 5. Topography: The average topography in the area of the proposed septic system is approximately two to three percent in the area of the SAS.
