and material and are guaranteed to do all we claim for
them when properly Installed, used, and cared for. Should
any part, or parts prove defective within 12 months from
date of original Installation or24 months from date of man-
ufacture, It will be repaired or replaced F.O.B. our factory
or authorized service station without charge, provided the
part (or parts) is returned transportation charges prepaid.
No allowance will be made for labor, transportation, or
other charges Incurred In the replacement or repair of de-
fective parts by customer. We will not be responsible for
labor charges, loss, or damages caused by defective parts.
This warranty does not apply when damage Is caused by
sand or abrasive materials pumped with the water, corro-
slon due to acid waters, Improper voltage supply, light-
ning, careless handling, or Improper Installation.
Failure to use copper cable of correct size will void the
warranty on the unit.
Our warranty will be void If the Installation Is made with
any magnetic starter or protector of Improper size or type.
On some Installations "phase converters" are used to
obtain a three-phase power supply from a single-phase
power source. The use of phase converters may cause an
unbalance between the three phases and cause damage to
the motor. For this reason we will NOT extend warranty
coverage on any units Installed with phase converters.
Supplemental Lifetime Warranty
In addition to the warranty policy set forth above, should
any part (or parts) of the RED JACKET submersible unit fall
due to corrosion at any time while owned by the original
customer and when Installed In a potable water well, It will
be replaced F.O.B. our factory or authorized distributor
without charge, provided the unit Is returned with proof of
purchase and transportation charges are prepaid. No al-
lowance will be made for labor, transportation, or other

by customer. We will not be responsible for loss or dam-
ages caused by defective parts.

The RED JACKET submersible motor Is designed to
pump potable water at temperatures up to 800F. For ap-
plications where the unit will be pumping other liquids or
water at higher temperatures, the factory should be con-
sulted before making the Installation. Failure to do so will
void the warranty.
NOTE Installation procedures may vary between states.
Refer to your state water well code for proper Installation
regulations. Refer to your local electrical code for proper
wiring procedures.
TO THE PURCHASER
The RED JACKET submersible unit Is designed to give
long, trouble free service. Experiencehas Indicated that Ill.
tie or no attention Is necessary once a submersible unit
has been properly Installed. Many service tails on submer-
sible units have been due to an Improper Installation. For
this reason, we strongly recommend following the outline
provided paying particular attention to the precautions
noted when Installing the unit.
The majority of service calls on submersible units are
electrical In nature. All RED JACKET submersible units are
thoroughly tested throughout the manufacturing process
for electrical continuity and resistance to avoid any possi-
ble need for service. In the unlikely event that electrical
problems do occur, a complete electrical testing proce-
dure Is Included In this manual for your use or use by a
qualified technician of your choice.
This motor Is for deep well applications and should not
be used in surface water such as lakes, rivers or swimming
pools where physical contact with the unit or water may
cause electrical shock. The motor frame should always be
grounded when performing electrical tests.
