We are therefore requesting a permit be issued for the construction of a new well and septic system to serve the new home. The attached Site Plan and backup documentation identify the location and configuration of the new well and proposed septic system. Also identified on the plans are the locations of the well and septic systems on the adjacent properties. The adjacent wells restrict the location for a septic system to a very small area. We have therefore designed a biocycle septic treatment system, which allows for an absorption area half the size of a standard septic system. Drainage arrows are shown indicating the current patterns. The drainage patterns will be maintained after construction. The test holes placed on the lot indicated silty sand with varying amounts of gravel in the area of the new absorption trench and alternate site. The percolation rate for this material is between 5 and 20 minutes per inch. Soils underlying this material are much tighter with a percolation rate between 100 and 120 minutes per inch. No groundwater was found during placement of the test holes and none was noted during the monitoring period. We are therefore proposing to place a new biocycle septic tank and a 50' long by 5' wide by 3' effective depth absorption trench to treat the effluent generated in the house. The elevation of the distribution line in the absorption trench will be 1' below the surface and the total depth will be 4'. Sufficient fill will be placed over the trenches and septic tank to prevent frost penetration and possible freezing. The ground surface on the lot slopes at shallow grades from north to south off the Lot 15, Block 5, Skyranch Estates Subdivision September 17, 2003 Page Two existing road. The trenches will be constructed parallel with the slope as much as possible in conformance with Municipal requirements. The new septic system will be constructed a minimum of 100' from the proposed well on the lot and the existing wells on the adjacent lots. It will also be constructed a minimum of 100' from any surface water in the area. If the system is constructed in accordance with our design the following statements apply: The system, if constructed as designed, will have no adverse impact on the wells in the area or those to be constructed in the future. 2. The system, if constructed as designed, will have no adverse impact on existing septic systems in the area or those to be constructed in the future. 3. The system, if constructed as designed, will have no adverse impact on reserve space, either surface or subsurface, on any lots located in the area. 4.
