The attached site plan identifies the location of the home as well as the existing septic location and the proposed tank. No conflicts exist between this proposed system and any other well or septic system, whether on this lot or adjacent lots. The existing tank is partially under the walk-off deck, so instead of removing it the homeowner wants to have it decommissioned in-place. The new tank will be placed to the side and will connect in to the double cleanouts on either side. This lot and its neighbors are on a community water system, and the water line comes in on the front of the home. The new tank will be a minimum of 10’ from the foundation and more than 5’ away from the septic field. Please refer to the attached plan for the septic design. If this design is followed, there will be no adverse impacts to adjacent properties. In reviewing the Municipality file information on this property, we found that the inspection report shows the trenches at 7' and 5' respectively from the north lot line. The attached survey indicates the closest trench to be 3' from the lot line. We are requesting that your department waive the subject separation distance to 3 feet. Justification for the waiver is summarized as follows: 1) The existing excroachment has existed for 18 years with no adverse impact. 2) The lot is served by public water. 3) Attached are letters of non -objection from ACS (telephone), GCI (cable), and ML&P (electric).
