Box 102954 age, Alaska, 99510 I am writing to request that a permit to install a new water supply system and septic system be issued for this lot. The proposed systems will serve a new four-bedroom house. Currently the lot is undeveloped. The surrounding lots are served by private water systems, which are over 100 feet from the proposed soil absorption system. The lot will be served by a private water system. 1. Soils. The soils were investigated during September and October of 2005 during the subdivision process. An additional test hole was excavated on August 4, 2007. No ground water was monitored in the test holes to a depth of 17 feet below ground level. Bedrock was not encountered in the test holes. The native soils have sufficient sand component (greater than 51 % passing the #4 sieve) as not to require a two foot (2) sand filter. It is my opinion that the overall soils appearance of the soils, an application rate of 1.0 gallons/day/square feet should be used using a standard treatment system. 2. Trench Design. a. Percolation Rate: <1 Min Per Inch b. Application Rate: I.0 gpdpsf c. Number of Bedrooms: 4 d. Design Flow: 600 gallons per day e. Min. Absorption Area: 600 sf f. Total depth: 11 feet g. Effective Depth: 7.0 feet h. Width: 2.5 to 3 feet i. Minimum Length: 42.9 feet j. Design Length: 45 feet k. Effective Absorption Area: 630 sf 1. Septic Tank Size: 1,250 gallon 3. Surface Water: There is no surface water within 100 feet of the proposed system. The proposed systems will maintain at least 100 feet from all surface water and drainage ditches containing water. 4. Topography: Lot 28 is at the apex of a knoll and slopes to the northwest at approximately 10 percent in the vicinity of the septic system. The lot is uniform in its slope. The proposed installation will be located in the northern portion of the lot, greater than 50 feet from slopes greater than 25%. Date e900906 Engineers Comments: In conducting an adequacy test, l attempt to provide a thorough, conscientious engineering analysis of the system in accordance with hIOA DSD Guidelines & Regulations. The reported results describe the performance of the system under the conditions encountered at the time of the test, and separation distances measured to readily identifiable features. The operational life of all wells and septic systems depend on the local soil condition, ground water levels that may fluctuate during the year, and the water usage of the family being served by the system.
