Box 196650, Anchorage, Ak 99519-6650 (907)343-7904 Ref: Proposed Well and Septic System for JB Cruz Subdivision; Lot 2 To whom it may concern: The proposed 4 bedroom house will be served by a private well and septic system. The proposed well location is shown on the attached site plan and design drawings. We are proposing that a 1250 gallon septic tank and dual 5 -wide trench type drainfield be installed. Three test holes were excavated on the property. The drainfield will be designed around the 30 foot radius of test hole #2. Comments regarding the design are summarized as follows: 1. SOILS: See the attached log which shows the soil classifications, groundwater monitoring, and the percolation test results. 2. DRAINFIELD DESIGN: See attached design drawing for drainfield specifications. 3. SURFACE WATERS: There are no surface waters within 100 feet of the proposed septic system. 4. TOPOGRAPHY AND WAIVER REQUEST: As can be seen on the attached design drawing the average topography in the area of the proposed drainfield is a 1 to 5 percent slope running approximately east to west. We are requesting a 35 foot waiver to a cutbank located north of the proposed drainfield. Attached is a profile drawing showing that at a 25 percent slope from 2 feet above the distribution line, the slope does not daylight within 50 feet. Also, given the porosity of the soils, effluent should not travel laterally. Based upon these mitigating factors, it is our opinion that there is minimal risk with the granting of this waiver.
