Due to site constraints, the decision was made to use an advanced wastewater treatment system (AWWTS). The design proposes to do a soils test hole prior to construction. Although the adjacent properties have 1‐5 MPI soils, the proposed design conservatively uses the application rate for 31‐60 MPI soils. The design proposes to use a BioMicrobics BioBarrier 0.5 MBR AWWTS. Please see the design drawings for further details. 20‐ft Subsurface Drain to Steep Slope Waiver Request: The subsurface drain is located approximately 20‐feet from a 56% slope. Soils tests in the local area indicate the soils are predominately Hydrologic Soils Group A, which uses a 45% infiltration line for design purposes. The detail included in the design drawings shows that effluent will not daylight due to the slope in question. As such, we are requesting the subsurface drain be allowed to be 20 feet from the existing steep slope. There are no anticipated probable adverse impacts to adjacent properties if the septic system is constructed as designed. This includes: a. Wells; b. Wastewater disposal systems; c. Replacement disposal sites; and d. Drainage flowing onto and off of the subject property that could adversely affect performance of the wastewater disposal system. The AWWTS shall be maintained in a satisfactory condition capable of performing as designed and producing treated septic effluent in accordance with the equipment's approval for operation in the Municipality. It shall be the responsibility of the Owner during the term of this Agreement to pay for all repair(s), maintenance, adjustment(s), replacement costs, and inspection costs. This includes an annual maintenance fee (typically $400 to $600). Owner agrees that only maintenance and repair personnel approved by the Municipality or the manufacturer's representative will inspect and make any necessary maintenance, IN repairs or permitted alterations to the system. V-4&Owner acknowledges that regular maintenance of an AWWTS reduces the potential failure of the system, which could include sewage backup and costly repairs or drainfield replacement.
