We have reviewed your comments regarding the well and septic system recently
constructed on Lot 3, Block 1, Cross View Estates Subdivision and have the following
comments:
1. The Pump Installation Log is attached.
2. The new absorption trenches were constructed between 11.5' and 12.8' below
ground as opposed to the permitted depth of 11.0'. The additional depth was
required to allow gravity flow from the septic tank to the absorption trenches.
The entire absorption area of the trenches was placed in the percolation zone of
the test holes placed on the lot. No bedrock has been noted on any of the test
holes placed in Cross View Estates. The test holes placed on this lot were dug
to depths of 17' and 18'. In addition the well placed on this lot was drilled to 275'
with no bedrock encountered the entire depth. We are confident that no bedrock
is within 6' of the bottom of either trench.

Revised Septic System Location
Attached is the test hole recently placed on Lot 3 to verify subsurface soil conditions at
the revised site location. Water monitoring completed since the placement of the test
hole on June 27 indicates no water present. None was present at the time of
placement and none is currently found.
The Site Plan shows the surface slopes in the area. Bainbridge Drive is currently
undeveloped and drainage flows through the area at shallow slopes. All slopes in the
area are less than 10% and will have no adverse affect on the new absorption system.
Please revise the permit to allow placement of the septic system in the configuration
shown.

Revised Septic System Location
The septic system for Lot 3 was designed to be centered around the test hole placed on
the lot during the subdivision phase. The location of the test hole was scaled from the
drawing submitted at the time of the subdivision approval and attached to this memo.
Unfortunately that test hole was not accurately located and has caused a revision to our
design. The location of the test hole is accurately shown on the attached plan.
We have also modified our design due to encountering unsatisfactory subsurface soils.
The new location is shown and a new test hole location is also shown. Information
concerning the test hole will be forwarded to you as soon as the field notes are
reviewed. Soils encountered in Test Hole A are silt with gravel (MUGM) with a
percolation rate less than 30 minutes per inch. The system was originally designed with
an application rate of .6 gallons per day per square foot which is in agreement with soils
encountered in Test Hole A.

Septic System Design and Permit Application
Impacts to Adjacent Properties
Dear Onsite Services Engineer.
The owner of Lot 3, Block 1, Cross View Estates Subdivision intends to construct a new
five -bedroom home on the lot. We are therefore requesting a permit be issued for the
construction of a new well and septic system to accommodate the home. The attached
Site Plan and backup documentation identify the location and configuration of the
proposed well and septic system along with the alternate site. Also identified on the
plans are the existing wells and septic systems on surrounding lots. No conflicts exist
between the proposed well and septic system and wells or septic systems on adjacent
lots. Drainage arrows are shown on the site plan showing the grade and direction of
flow on the lot. The drainage pattern will not be changed as a result of this project.
The test hole was placed on the lot in the area of the absorption trench and alternate
site during the subdivision phase. The log indicates silty sand (SM). The percolation
rate of the soil was determined to be between 30 minutes per inch. No groundwater
was found during the placement of the test hole and none was noted during the
monitoring period. An application rate of .6 gallons per day per square foot was used in
the design of the absorption system. We are proposing to place a new 1,500 -gallon
septic tank and two 40' long by 3' wide by 8' effective depth absorption trenches to treat
and dispose of the effluent generated in the house. The elevation of the distribution
line in the absorption trench will be 3' below the surface and the total depth will be 11'.
A minimum of 3' of fill or 2" of insulation and 2' of fill will be placed over the absorption
trench and 4' over the septic tank.
The ground surface on the lot in the area of the septic system slopes to the west. The
new trench will be constructed parallel with the slope as much as possible in
conformance with Municipal requirements. The new septic system will be constructed a

minimum of 1 00'from all wells and any surface water and 10' the proposed and existing
water services in the area.
If the system is constructed in accordance with our design the following statements
apply:
The system, if constructed as designed, will have no adverse impact on the wells
in the area or those to be constructed in the future.
2. The system, if constructed as designed, will have no adverse impact on existing
septic systems in the area or those to be constructed in the future.
3. The system, if constructed as designed, will have no adverse impact on reserve
space, either surface or subsurface, on any lots located in the area.
4. The system, if constructed as designed, will have no adverse impact on drainage
patterns in the area. The current drainage pattern will be maintained.
