Dear Sirs:
REF: Lot 24B, Eagle River Ranchettes - Request for Permit
Attached is our request for a permit to upgrade the on-site sewer system for the above lot. The
existing system is in failure and the owner is presently without septic and has requested an
expedited permit. The subdivision is served by public water and no on-site or public wells will
be impacted.
As shown on the site plan, there are no conflicts with proposed water lines or existing sewer
systems. In addition, there are no class "A" public wells within 200' of the property, and
sufficient distance ( 10'+ ) is provided for all area water lines.
This lot is generally flat and comprised of mixed birch with a slope of approximately 2%
running south to north. The natural slope will provide positive drainage away from the
proposed installation site. There is no surface water within 200 feet of any portion of the
proposed installation.
We performed one soils test within in the proposed absorption area, and conducted one
percolation test on this property. The area soils as shown on the soils log are excellent and are
comprised of sandy gravel's (GM) with little to no silt. The design we are submitting is based
on the existing three bedroom house and a percolation rate of approximately (3.2 min./inch).
In addition, water seeps were encountered during the excavation at approximately 8' and at
6.7' after water monitoring. We have been forced to design a bed to insure adequate separation
from ground water.

Approval (COSA) based only upon the representations given in paragraph 4 by an independent professional civil
engineer registered in the State of Alaska. Certificates of On-Site Systems Approval are required for the transfer
of title (except between spouses) for properties served by a single-family on-site wastewater disposal and/or
water supply system. DSD also issues COSAs upon request to homeowners. Certificates of On-Site Systems
Approval are valid for 90 days from the date of issue for properties served by a private or Class C well and may
be reissued with new water samples. (Certificates may be reissued for a period of up to one year with valid water
samples.) Certificates are valid for one year for properties served by Class A or B wells or a public water system.
The Municipality of Anchorage is not responsible for errors or omissions in the professional engineer's work.

In conducting this evaluation, GEG, LtD. attempted to provide a thorough,
conscientious engineering analysis of the system in accordance with ADEC and MOA
DSD Guidelines & Regulations. The reported results described the performance of the
system under the conditions encountered at the time of the test, and separation
distances measured to readily identifiable features. TOe operational life of all wells and
septic systems depend on the local soils condition, groundwater levels that may
fluctuate during the year, and the water usage of the family being served by the system.
These conditions are outside the control of the evaluator of the system. Satisfactory test
results do not guarantee future performance of the system, nor do they guarantee that
there are no hidden defects or encroachments. GEG, LTD. can therefore not provide
any warranty or future estimate of how long the system wifl continue to meet the
operational requirements of the ADEC or MOA DSD. The content of this report is for
the sole benefit of the owner listed above. Any refiance upon or use of this repor~ bY any
