As we discussed, I am writing to acknowledge that Lot 16 has an un -approved wastewater system serving the structure. The structure on this lot is not inhabited currently, and would take a significant remodel project to make it inhabitable. The Trust does not have intentions at this time to sell lot 16 after the subdivision is approved. The Trust acknowledges that the sale of this lot will require either razing the building and abandoning the existing cesspool, or upgrading the wastewater system to meet the current code. Box 196650 Anchorage, Alaska 99519 Subject: T11N R2W Sec 6, E2NW4, SW4NE4 Septic System Permit Upgrade Request Ladies and Gentlemen: I am writing to request a permit to construct an upgraded septic system be issued for this property. The proposed systems will serve an existing four-bedroom house. Currently the lot is developed. The lot is served by a private well. The existing cesspool will be abandoned per code. A new drain field will be installed northwest of the house and will be sized to handle a four-bedroom waste stream. This system will be installed on a 120 acre homestead with no other lots within 200 feet of the proposed system. There are no wells or septic systems within 200 feet of the proposed system. 1. Soils. Two test holes were excavated by Pannone Engineering Service in July of2011. See the soil log attached. Ground water was monitored for seven days. No ground water was monitored to a depth of twelve point five feet (12.5') below ground level after the monitoring period. Bedrock was not encountered in the test hole. It is my opinion, based on the results of the percolation tests and overall soils appearance; an application rate of 0.45 gallons/day/square feet should be used, using a conventional wastewater treatment system. o Soil Absorption System Design. a. See Sheet 2 of the design package 3. Surface Water: There is no surface water within 100 feet of the proposed septic tank and the existing drain field. The proposed drain field upgrade will maintain at least 100 feet from all surface water and drainage ditches. 4. Topography: The average topography in the area of the proposed septic system is approximately 20 to 25 percent based on the survey information in the area of the septic system. Page 2 of 2 5. Drawing Markings: The Drawings are marked "For MoA Review Only". When written notification that the review is complete and that there are no further comments is received from MoA On-Site Department, the note will be removed and "Issued for Construction" drawings will be issued. The proposed installation will not affect the future development of the surrounding or existing lots. There are no wells within 200 feet of the proposed septic location.
