The proposed system will serve a 6-bedroom duplex on the above referenced property. Soil logs, design calculations, a site plan, design drawings and construction specifications are enclosed for your review. Design Cales: Groundwater observed up at a depth of 7.5 feet below ground surface (8/31/2012). Soil Rating. From test hole 8/24/12 <1 min/in = 1.0 gal per sq.ft/day <1 mm/in = 1.0 gal per sq.ft/day No. of Bedrooms 6 Required Area per Bedroom: 150/1.0 = 150 sq.ft. Total area required: 150 x 6 = 900 sqft System: We are proposing a 2000 gallon STEP tank and a shallow trench absorption field consisting of two trenches 5 feet wide and 90 feet long with 2 feet of filter sand and 0.5 feet of sewer rock. Soils: th Test holes were excavated on August 21 , 2012. See the attached soil logs. Groundwater was observed in test hole #1 at a depth of 7.5 feet below ground surface on August 31, 2012. Ground water monitoring will continue through construction of the septic system. Surface Water: There are no surface waters within one hundred feet of the proposed septic system upgrade.
