Water Availability Study
Dear Dan:
We have collected information on the wells on several lots surrounding the proposed Lot 12A
Hansen Sand Lake Subdivision to estimate the possible depths and production rates of a
future well to be constructed on Lot 12A2. Much of the surrounding area has AWWU sewer
and water so little information is available on wells. A Class C Well is currently on site on Lot
12A1 approximately 97' from the proposed well on Lot 12A2. The home to be constructed
on Lot 12A2 could connect to the existing water system on Lot 12A1 or a new private well
could be constructed. An 8" ductile iron sewer main currently fronts the lot and a new service
will be extended to Lot 12A2.
Wells studied vary in depth from 90' to 100' below the surface with casing the entire depth.
The static water level vades from 70' to 80' below the surface. Bedrock was not noted in any
of the wells with primarily sandy gravel and silt found at all locations. The wells are all lined
with 6" steel casing the entire depth with the pumping level near the bottom of the well. The
production rates noted on the well logs and flow tests varied from 2 to 10 gallons per minute
with the majority of the wells more than 6 gallons per minute.
In conclusion, it is highly likely the well to be constructed Lot 12A2 will be shallow and
probably less than 120' in depth, It will be constructed in unconsolidated soil formations and
require casing the entire depth. The production rate from the well will be between 2 and 8
gallons per minute.

Actual water system production will depend on the size of the pump placed in the well and
the interior plumbing in the house. It is apparent, based on our study and the results
achieved on the wells surrounding this property that sufficient water is available for the
development of Lot 12A2, Hansen Sand Lake Subdivision.
Please let me know if you have further questions.
Sincerely,
Michael E. Anderson, P.E.
