Reft Revisions to the Proposed Septic System Design (Permit# SW020378)
for Lots 25, Block 10; Rabbit Creek Heights Subdivision
To whom it may concern:
A permit (#SW020378) was issued for a proposed well and septic system for the referenced
property. An Advantex Treatment System was to be installed on the property. A confirmation
test, labeled test hole #3, was excavated south of test hole #2 and a percolation test was
performed between 5.0 to 5.5 feet which found the rate to be <1 minute/inch. It is our opinion
that the insitu sandy soils will act as a sand filter. No groundwater was encountered to the depth
of 14.5 feet in test hole #3 during the excavation. The highest groundwater level in test hole #2
was found to be between 11 to 11.9 feet during the month of September. Based upon this
information, we m'e proposing to revise the design to use a 2000 gallon S.T.E.P. tank and a
pressurized 5-wide drainfield. Also, per the homeowners request, we are designing for a 5
bedroom house instead of a 4 bedroom house. We request that a revised permit be issued to
include these changes. The following is the revisions to the design criteria:

b. Proposed Application Rate: 1.2 gallons/day/ft2
c. Number of Bedrooms: 5
d. Design Flow: 750 gallons per day
e. Minimum Absorption Area: 625 ft2
f. Total Depth: 6.5 feet (max.)
g. Effective Depth: 4 feet
h. Width: 5 feet
i. Reduction Factor: 0.50
j. Minimum Length: 63 feet long
k. Effective absorption area: 630 ft2

Note: the distribution lines are to be 1.25 inch Schedule 40 PVC with ¼ inch diameter holes
spaced 24 inches on center (15 holes per lateral/30 holes total).
TOPOGRAPHY: The average topo~'aphy in the area of the proposed drainfield is a 10%-15%
slope running approximately south/southwest to north/northeast. In short, there are no slope
concerns.
CLOSING: I am open to any suggestions bom your department that would be an improvement
to the proposed system. I am unaware of any negative impacts that this installation would
impose on adjacent wells, or septic systems. If you have any questions, please call us at 337-

conscientious engineering analysis of the system in accordance with ADEC and MOA
DSD Guidelines & Regulations. The reported results described the performance of the

Approval (HAA) based only upon the representations given in paragraph 4 by an independent professional civil
engineer registered in the State of Alaska. Certificates of Health Authority Approval are required for the transfer
of title (except between spouses) for proper[les served by a single-family on-site wastewater disposal and/or
water supply system. DSD also issues HAAs upon request to homeowners. Certificates of Health Authority
Approval are valid for 90 days from the date of issue for properties served by a private or Class C well and may
be reissued with new water samples, (Certificates may be reissued for a period of up to one year with valid
water samples.) Certificates are valid for one year for properties served by Class A or B wells or a public water
system. The Municipality of Anchorage is not responsible for errors or omissions in the professional engineer's
work.
