All construction must be in accordance with:
1. The attached approved design.
2. All requirements specified in Anchorage Municipal code Chapters 15.55 and 15.65 and the State of Alaska Wastewater
Disposal Regulations (18AAC72) and Drinking Water Regulations (18AAC80).
3. The wastewater code requires inspections during the installation. The engineer must notify the Development Services
Department at least 2 hours prior to each inspection. Provide notification by calling (907) 343-7904 (24 hours).
4. From October 15 to April 15, a subsurface soil absorption system under construction during freezing weather must either:
A. Open and Close on the same day.
B. Covered, sealed, and heated to prevent freezing.
Special Provisions:
1. A water well shall not be drilled on this property until an approved water -carried sewage disposal
system has been permitted and constructed.
2. Potable water will be brought to the site and gray water is to be properly disposed of off site.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
I am writ'mg to request a vault privy installation permit for the above referenced property. A site plan,
design drawings, and specifications are enclosed for your review
The owner of the lot would like to avoid the costs of an 6nsite wastewater system, at this tune. The
owner is aware that this permit will not allow him to drill a well until he installs an approved water-
carded sewage disposal system. He plans to utilize potable water transported to the site. The owner is
also aware that any gray water must be collected and disposed of properly off-site
The topography of the lot slopes at approximately 25% to the east. The privy will be located just below
the proposed cabin location. The proposed privy shall be located 100 feet from any surface water.
The installation of this privy will not prevent wells and septic systems fi.om being installed on the
adjacent lots. The location of the privy will allow for the future installation of a watm' supply and
wastewater system on this lot, should the owner choose. The proposed septic system will not change the
general slope of the area. Ponding and/or concentration of surface runoff will not result from this
installation.
