Attached to the application sheet, including this letter and sizing and specifications requirements are the following documents. 1. Figures 1 and 2, Site Plan and Septic Design Plan stamped and signed by a licensed professional engineer. 2. This septic system design is for a four-bedroom home to be served by a private well. We propose installation of a 1250 -gallon septic tank and a wide trench type drain field. The attached Site Plan and Septic Design Plans, Figures 1 and 2, respectively, include the existing adjacent and surrounding property well and septic system approximate locations and the proposed well for this lot as well as the location of soil and percolation test pit used for this design application. No other wells exist within 100 feet of our proposed septic system design. The included percolation and soils identification log reflecting exploration to a depth of 14 feet was performed and stamped by a registered professional engineer in the State of Alaska. The test indicates poorly graded sand with gravel exclusively below the six-inch thick organic layer. The soil percolation rate was faster than one minute per inch. A fill slope elevated slightly lower than the street surface of the cul-de-sac Outlook Circle extends onto the lot occupying approximately the northeast quadrant of the lot; the surface fill slopes gently south. See Figure 2. Surface waters are more than 100 feet from the proposed and alternate septic field locations. This proposed installation and well location create no adverse effects or limitations on existing or future adjacent wells or septic systems under current MOA Code. Developed surrounding lots are served by on-site septic systems and private wells. Soil percolation rate faster than one minute per inch requires a two -foot thickness of filter material underlying sewer rock gravel and 150 square feet of septic area per bedroom. The septic system design area requirement for four bedrooms is 600 square feet; at five feet wide and a length reduction factor of 0.5 (48 inches of sewer rock gravel below the perforated sewer pipe) the required trench length is 60 lineal feet. Specification Requirements All components and work must comply with the Anchorage Municipal Code and State of Alaska Drinking water Regulations. • Four-bedroom home requires a 1250 -gallon septic tank.
