Terrace Block 2 Lot 4 Ladies and Gentlemen: I am writing to request a well & septic system installation permit for the above referenced property. The new installation will serve a proposed 4 -bedroom single-family residence. Soil logs, design calculations, a site plan, design drawings and construction specifications are enclosed for your review. Design Cates: Groundwater observed to a depth of 12.5 feet below ground surface in TH #2 (5/9/12)*. Soil Rating. From Testhole #2 10/18/13 9.3 min/in = 0.8 gal per sq.ft/day No. of Bedrooms 4 Required Area per Bedroom: 150/ 0.8=187.5sq.ft. Total area required: 187.5 x 4 = 750 sgft System: We are proposing a 1250 gallon steel septic tank followed by a deep trench absorption field. The absorption field will consist of two 3 foot wide trenches which will be 40 feet long and contain 5.5 feet (880 sq.ft. effective) of sewer rock. They will be connected by a 50/50 flow splitter. Soils: Test holes were initially excavated by Gamess Engineering on April 0, 2012 See the attached soil logs. Spurkland Engineering performed our own percolation test near test hole 42 on October 18th, 2013 to confirm the data gathered by Garness. Ground water monitoring will continue through construction of the septic system. Groundwater was not observed in either test hole on October 18th, 2013. *Garness Engineering observed ground water at 9.5 feet in test hole 91, but ground water was observed at 12.5 feet in test hole #2. Topography: The ground level slopes down towards the west at a consistent 20% grade. Waivers: None Well: The well will be located on the northern edge of the property in such a place to not impede future septic system installation at Conifer Heights Block 1 Lot 21 across the street. The installation of this septic system will not prevent wells and septic systems from being installed on the adjacent lots. The proposed septic system will not change the general slope of the area.
