2. All requirements specified in Anchorage Municipal code Chapters 15.55 and 15.65 and the State of Alaska
Wastewater Disposal Regulations (18AAC72) and Drinking Water Regulations (18AAC80)
3. The wastewater code requires inspections during the installation. The engineer shall notify the Development
Services Department per AMC 15.65. Provide notification by calling (907) 343-7904 (24/7).
4. From October 15 to April 15, a subsurface soil absorption system under construction during freezing weather
shall be either:
a. Opened and Closed on the same day, or
b. Covered, sealed, and heated to prevent freezing
Special Provisions: A splitter valve shall be installed prior to the dual trenches to split the flow evenly between
the two trench sections.

Design Narrative Renewal
This permit renewal is required because the contractor is unable to construct the proposed septic system
until after the current permit expires on June 28, 2023.
The property owner is proposing to construct a 1‐bedroom single family home on the subject property.
The septic system design will be sized for 3 bedrooms.
There are no anticipated probable adverse impacts to adjacent properties if the septic system is
constructed as designed. This includes: a. Wells; b. Wastewater disposal systems; c. Replacement disposal
sites; and d. Drainage flowing onto and off of the subject property that could adversely affect performance
of the wastewater disposal system.

The surrounding~d,~elop~-- ~ -are ser_~ed by private wells. There are no wells on surrounding lots that
had onsite documen~ion within 100 feet of this system.
The design has not changed only the Current owner. Please see the new permit application.
Soils. Garness Engineering group performed two test holes on this lot on 7/24/2012, and groundwater
was monitored on 7/31/12 and ground water was not observed in either test hole monitor tube. From
0.5' to 17' was very clean gravel with a faster then 1 MP.I perk rate It is my opinion, based on the results of
the soils tests, the use of a two foot sand layer and overall soils appearance; an application rate of 1
gallons/day/square feet should be used.

Ladies and Gentlemen:
I am writing to request a permit to install a new septic system be issued for this property. The proposed
systems will serve a prefect ~ive (5) bedroom house.. The proposed system will utilize a 1500g septic tank.
The surrounding developed lots are served by private wells. There are no wells on surrounding lots that
had onsite documentation within 100 feet of this system.
Soils. Garness Engineering group performed two test holes on this lot on 7/24/2012, and groundwater
was monitored on 7/31/12 and ground water was not observed in either test hole monitor tube. From
0.5' to 17' was very clean gravel with a faster then 1 MPI perk rate It is my opinion, based on the results of
the soils tests, the use of a two foot sand layer and overall soils appearance; an application rate of 1
gallons/day/square feet should be used.
