Per your request, a sewer system adequacy test was conducted between
27 and 30 April 1979. A septic tank capacity of 1,000 gallons is required.
Yonf septic tank was pumped, and approximately 750 gallons were removed.
This was insufficient to verify a capacity of 1,000 gallons. It is
recommended that y0uhave a septic tank pumper add chemicals to break
down solids within the tank and'have it repumped to see if it is 1,000
gallons. If this does not prove to be adequate, then it will be necessary
for you to expose the tank to determine'the capacity.
The seepage pit was ?ull of water at the beginning of the test period.
After pumping the seepage pit, it was recharged with 600 gallons of fresh
water. Water levels were measured'both before and after the water was
added. The 600 gallons which were added to the seepage pit caused, the
water to raise in the standpipe. After a 24 hour period, the water level
in the standpipe had not dropped. Measurements were again taken at the
end of 72 hours with no measurable drop in the water level.
From the above test and survey, it can only be concluded that this system
is not functioning adequately to serve your three bedroom residence located
on the referenced property.

The water system serving the subject property is approved.
The sewer system is not approved at this time. This
department would grant a conditional approval if funds are
escrowed to install a new leaching area by August 1, 1979.
An upgrade permit(S20.00) is required along with a soil test
to establish size specifications for the new system, which
complicates the amount of escrow that should be set aside.
To summarize, this department will grant a conditional approval
if funds are set aside to install a new leaching area, of which,
the exact size cannot be determined until a soil test is
conducted.
