In addition an older failing existing wastewater system was decommissioned per the Uniform Plumbing Code, Appendix K. The new 2000 gallon septic tank and the Advantex system with two AX -20 pod, was installed to improve the effluent quality for disposed of effluent into the onsite soil absorption system which has a length of 37.5 feet. The disposal system is located on lot 20 with the duplex on lot 21. Lots 20 & 21 are owned by the same person and must remain dependent upon each other and not be separated due to any development that may occur. Percolation tests were run on the site material with 36.9 minutes per inch being determined in the area of the soil absorption field. The City of Anchorage would allow an application rate of 2 gallons/day /ft2 but a factor of safety has been applied which decreased the application rate to 1 gallon/day/ft2 resulting in a field of 750 ft2. The use of the Advanced Treatment System must maintain a continuous maintenance agreement. A copy of final operational approval with the maintenance agreement should be recorded with the property records. The Department has reviewed the final correspondence, certification of construction, and record drawings submitted for the onsite wastewater disposal and treatment system and per the Wastewater Regulations 18 AAC 72.240 final operational approval for the proposed system is hereby issued. Please use the referenced plan number in correspondence regarding this system. This approval does not imply the granting of additional authorizations nor obligate any state, federal or local regulatory body to grant required authorizations. Any person who disagrees with this decision may request an adjudicatory hearing in accordance with 18 AAC 15.195- 18 AAC 15,340 or an informal review by the Division Director in accordance with 18 AAC 15.185.
