Ref: Proposed Septic System Upgrade for Silver Crest; Block 2, Lot 6
To whom it may concern:
The existing 3 bedroom house is served by a private well and septic system. Per the homeowner's
request, we are proposing to install a new 3 bedroom septic system. The new system will consist of a
1000 gallon HDPE septic tank and 5 -wide type drainfield. Given the burial depth limitation of an HDPE
tank, prior to the installation of the septic tank, the contractor will need to confirm the sewer outlet from
the house is high enough to ensure that maximum burial depth (4 feet) is not exceeded. If the outlet line is
to low, the contractor will install a 1000 gallon steel septic tank. In addition, the contractor will confirm that
there is adequate fall from the outlet of the proposed tank to the proposed drainfield elevation. If not, a
1250 gallon STEP tank will be installed. Two testholes were excavated on the property and the drainfield
is designed around T.H. #2. Comments regarding the design are summarized as follows:
1. SOILS: See the attached 2016 logs, which show the soil classifications, groundwater monitoring data,
and percolation test results. As can be seen on the soil log for T.H. #2, there is a soil transition at 14.5
feet. Due to the depth at which this transition takes place, a percolation test was not performed. However,
the soils visually appeared to be permeable and it is plausible that the soils would have a similar perk rate
to that of the GM material encountered in T.H. #1 (120 minutes/inch). Due to this fact, a sand filter is not
necessary.
2. DRAINFIELD DESIGN: See attached design drawing for drainfield specifications.
3. SURFACE WATERS: There are no surface water concerns.
4. TOPOGRAPHY: See attached design drawing with topography information.
We are unaware of any adverse impacts this installation would have on adjacent wells or septic systems.

Absorption System: 36 ft. trench, 8 ft. of rock.
Total Absorption Area: 576 sq. ft.
Soil Rating: 100.
Installation Date: December 1977.
DATE OF TEST: June 22, 1982.
TEST PROCEDURE: System was inspected on June 14, 1982. Tank was 10 feet below
ground with a liquid depth of 48-1/2 inches. Cleanout on each
side of tank was dry. Bottom of cleanouts: 71 inches below
ground level.
Cleanout at end of trench was 84 inches deep. No liquid but
moist silt in bottom.
On June 22, 1982, 450 gal. of clean water was introduced into
the system via the 4 -inch C.I. cleanout. Rate of flow was
5 gal. per minute. The liquid level in the tank remained static
at 49-1/2 inches. The tank was pumped at the end of the test.

RESULT Of TEST: This system accepted 450 gal. of liquid in a 90 minute
period. No signs of distress were observed.
The system meets the Municipal Code for a 3 -bedroom house.
