The existing tank has collapsed, putting the house out of service and leaving a hole in the yard. It will be decommissioned per code and replaced. Currentfythe lot is developed. The proposed system will utilize a replacement 1250g septic tank that will be connected to the existing drain field. This lot and the surrounding lots are served by public water. There are no wells within 200' of this system. 1. Upgrade Tank Design. a. See Sheet 1 of the design package. 2. Surface Water: There is no surface water within 100 feet of the proposed septic tank. The proposed septic tank upgrade will maintain at least 100 feet from all surface water and drainage ditches. 3. Topography: The existing topography is relatively flat, with no more than a 5% slope in the _ vicinity of the tank. There are no steep slopes within 50' of the system and the replacement of the tank will not change the slopes in the area surroundlj)g the system. Dear Mr. Marshall., The subject sewage disposal system was inspected by personnel of the Greater Anchorage Area Borough Health Department on August 28, 19689 and it was found not to be in compliance with the provisions of Ordinance No. 28-68 as follows: The system was in violation of Section 9-71 D (7), which states as follows' (page 11) "The tank shall be constructed so that gases generated in the tank, absorption field, seepage pit or absorption bed can easily flow back to the main building stack." This letter is to serve as due notice that the above cited violation be corrected within 7 days after receipt of this letter by removing the vent pipe and providing for an air -tight seal at the manhole. The above mentioned modifications are to be left open in order that final inspection and approval can be accomplished. Construction, installation, or use of a sewage disposal system not in compliance with the provisions of the above cited code is a misdemeanor and such action is subject to appropriate legal recourse.
