Ref. Septic Design for Lot 2, Block 3, Skyway Park Estates Subdivision
To whom it may concern:
The proposed 3 bedroom house will be served by a private septic system and a private well.
Three test holes were excavated on the property. Comments regarding the proposed design are
summarized as follows:
1. SOILS: Test hole 41 was found to be unsuitable for a septic system. Test holes 42 and #3
will be used for the septic area design. Attached are logs which shows the soil profile, and the
percolation test results for TH#2 and TH#3. In both test holes, the soils below the organic layers
are a ML material a depth of 2.5 feet in TH#2 and 3.0 feet in TI -1#3. At 2.5 and 3.0 feet the soils
transition to a GM/ML material to a depth of 13 feet in TH#2 and 13.5 feet in TH#3 (bottom of
test holes). No groundwater was encountered during the excavation of the test holes. Two
percolation tests were performed in TH#2, between the depth of 3.5 feet to 4.0 feet, and 5.0 feet
to 5.5 feet. The percolation rates were 120+ minute/inch and 4 minute/inch. Two percolation tests
were performed in TH#3, between the depth of 2.0 feet to 2.5 feet, and 5.0 feet to 5.5 feet. The
percolation rates of 34.3 minute/inch and 3.6 minute/inch. Due to wide variations in the
. -'LWW'e
percolation tests, it is our opinion that a 0.8 application rate be used.
2. TRENCH DESIGN:
a. Percolation Rate: 3.6, 4, 34.3, & 120+ minutes/inch
b. Allowable Application Rate: 0.8gallons/day/ft2
c. Number of Bedrooms: 3
d. Design Flow: 450 gallons per day 2
e. Minimum Absorption Area: 563 -
f. Total Depth: 7 feet (maximum)
g. Effective Depth: 3 feet
It. Width: 5 feet minimum
i. Reduction Factor: 0.58
i, Minimum Length: 66 feet long
j Effective absorption area = 569 ft2
3. SURFACE WATERS: There are no surface waters within 100 feet of the proposed
upgrade.
4. TOPOGRAPHY: The average topography of this property is mostly flat; in short, there are
no slope concerns.

Certificate of On -Site Systems Approval # OSC161171
A Certificate of On -Site Systems Approval inspection and test of potable
water was recently conducted on the well water supply on Block 3, Lot 2 of
Skyway Park Estates Subdivision. This inspection revealed an arsenic
concentration of 22.8 micrograms per liter (ug/L) for the property's well
water sample. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has established
a maximum contaminant level (MCL) of 10.0 ug/L for public drinking water
systems. While private wells are not subject to this regulation, EPA
standards are based on existing health information and can therefore be used
to gauge the relative quality of water from private wells. information on
arsenic is available from the On -Site Water and Wastewater Program
website (www.muni.org/onsitg) or at 343-7904.
This advisory must be attached to all copies of the subject Certificate of On -
Site Systems Approval.
