The septic system is in a state of failure and needs to be upgraded. We are proposing that a new 1250 gallon septic tank and dual 5-wide trench type drainfields be installed. One test hole was excavated on the property. The drainfield will be designed around the 30 foot radius ofthis test hole. Comments regarding the design are summarized as follows: 1. SOILS: See the attached logs which shows thc soil classifications, groundwater monitoring, and the percolation test results. 2. DRAINFIELD DESIGN: See attached design drawing for drainfield specifications. 3. SURFACE WATERS: There are no surface waters within 100 feet ofthe proposed septic system. 4. TOPOGRAPHY: As can be seen on the attached design drawing, the test hole was excavated in a Iow area on the propen3t. The average topography in thc area is a 5 to 15 percent slope running generally east to west. There are no cutbanks within 50 feet downhill from the proposed drainfields. Since the test hole was excavated in a Iow lying area, we are proposing to base the drainfield elevation on the original grade at the test hole. See Ihe attached detail drawing for the proposed drainfields elevations. In short, there are no slope concerns. 5. LOT LINE WAIVER REQUEST: We request that a .5 foot lot line waiver be issued from the west property line to the proposed drainficld. We are unaware of any adverse effects on the neighboring property with the granting of this waiver.
