Ref: Proposed Septic System for Lot 2, Block 3; Glenview North Subdivision
To whom it may concern:
The proposed 4 bedroom house is to be served by a community water system and a private septic
system. A test hole was excavated on the property and the proposed drain}ield will be designed
around the 30 foot radius of this test hole. We are proposing that a 1250 gallon septic tank and a
5 -wide type drainfield be installed. Also, per the homeowner's request, we are a proposing that a
grinder pump be installed inside the foundation in order to avoid the installation of a lift station.
Comments regarding the design are summarized as follows:
1. SOILS: See the attached logs which shows the soil classifications, groundwater monitoring,
and the percolation test results. It is our opinion that an application rate of 1.2 gallons/day/112
should apply.
2. TRENCH DESIGN:

system.

4. TOPOGRAPHY: The area around the proposed drainfield is relatively flat. There is a slope
that ranges between 20-25 percent north of the proposed drainfield, but we do not anticipate any
slope concerns regarding this. In short, there are no slope concerns.
5. LOT LINE WAIVER REQUEST: We request a 1 foot lot line request from the west lot
line to the proposed drainfield. We are unaware of any adverse effects on the neighboring
property with the granting of this waiver.
We are unaware of any adverse impacts this installation would have on adjacent wells or septic

Engineers Comments: This investigation was completed in compliance with ADEC and MOA regulations. The assessment of the condition
of the well and septic applies only to the conditions as of the day tested. The flow and absorption rates may change due to subsurface
conditions that may not be observed from the surface, changes inland use, local soil characteristics, groundwater levels that may fluctuate

engineer registered in the State of Alaska. Certificates of Onsite Systems Approval are required for the transfer of
title (except between spouses) for properties served by a single-family on-site wastewater disposal and/or water
supply system. DSD also Issues COSAs upon request to homeowners. Certificates of On -Site Systems Approval
are valid for 90 days from the date of issue for properties served by a private or Class C well and may be reissued
with new water sample results. (Certificates may be reissued for a period of up to one year with valid water
samples.) Certificates are valid for one year for properties served by Class A or B wells or a public water system.
The Municipality of Anchorage Is not responsible for errors or omissions in the professional engineer's work.
