A test hole was excavated and found silty gravel for the full 18 foot depth. The perc was 12 minutes per inch with no water observed during excavation or after the 7 day monitoring period. The lot slopes uphill (south) toward the back at about 3 to5 percent. None of the neighboring lots will be impacted by this installation. I looked at an original clearing that may have accommodated a drilling operation, but found no casing or depressions of any kind. The owner also had a metal detector and we surveyed the approximate area where the well was supposedly drilled. If there was a well there at one time, it has been removed or destroyed in a way that it cannot be found. Thanks!
