Lot 33, Block 4, Paradise Valley
Septic System Design and Permit Application
Impacts to Adjacent Properties
Dear Onsite Services Engineer:
The owner of the subject lot intends to construct a four bedroom home on the lot. The
attached Site Plan and backup documentation identify the location and configuration of
the proposed well and septic system. A new Quanics Aerocell Cat III Septic System will
be placed at the location shown. A new 1,500 Gallon STEP tank will be installed and
a 5' wide x 30' long x .5' effective depth absorption trench will be constructed to absorb
the septic effluent. Also identified on the plans are the locations of the proposed well
and the existing wells on adjacent lots. No conflicts exist between the proposed septic
system and the wells on this or adjacent lots. Drainage arrows are shown indicating the
current drainage patterns. The drainage patterns will be maintained after construction.
Two test holes were recently placed on the lot in the area of the proposed septic
system. These holes indicated silty gravel with some sand (GM). The percolation rate
was determined to be 3 to 5 minutes per inch. Groundwater was found at 4.5' to 5'
below the surface and stabilized near those levels during the monitoring period. The
final reading was taken on October 15, which is thought to be the high groundwater
level of the year. An application rate of 4 gallons per day per square foot was utilized to
design the proposed septic system. The distribution line of the system will be .5' above
the existing surface at the closest point. The trench will be covered with insulation and
2' of cover or a minimum of 3' of cover. The new septic tank will have a minimum of 4'
of cover.
The ground surface on the lot slopes to the southwest in the area of the absorption
trench at grades up to 25%. The absorption trench will be placed parallel to the
contours of the ground as much as possible and in conformance with design criteria. A

minimum of 100' will be maintained between all components of the septic system and
the proposed well and from any surface water in the area.
If the system is constructed in accordance with our design the following statements
apply:
The system, if constructed as designed, will have no adverse impact on the wells
in the area or those to be constructed in the future.
The system, if constructed as designed, will have no adverse impact on existing
septic systems in the area or those to be constructed in the future.
The system, if constructed as designed, will have no adverse impact on reserve
space, either surface or subsurface, on any lots located in the area.
The system, if constructed as designed, will have no adverse impact on drainage
patterns in the area. The current drainage pattern will be maintained.
Sincerely,
Michael E. Anderson, P.E.

applies only to the conditions as of the day tested. The flow and absorption rates may change
due to subsurface conditions that may not be observed from the surface, changes in land use,
local soil characteristics, groundwater levels that may fluctuate during the year, quality of
construction (workmanship & materials), the water usage of the family being served by the
system and maintenance. The operational life of all well and septic systems are subject to
these various and dynamic characteristics and are outside the control of the evaluator_ of the
